Over the years, a lot of poker pros - myself included - have made the transition from live play to playing online. In previous articles, I have discussed some of the necessary changes when it comes to strategic issues. Today, I will discuss two things that are quite different, and that are mental more than anything else probably: the psychological and financial dynamics of playing online.

If you want to be successful in No-Limit Hold'em, you have to act with a plan in mind at all times.
The point is that at all times you should look at more factors than just your number of outs. You should take into account what your opponents probably hold, and how they will respond to any action you may make - both now, as well as on the later streets. And from there you should then try to find the proper balance between minimizing your investments and maximizing your rewards, in order to make the play with the highest expected value.
