Brains behind EPT Berlin robbery jailed

The man behind the armed robbery at last year's EPT Berlin Main Event has been jailed. Ibrahim al Moussa was given a sentence of six years and four months for his part in the raid which saw armed robbers make off with approximately €245,000.

Four men aged between 19 and 21 were previously sentenced to spells in prison and juvenile detention centres for their role in the crime at a trial in June last year. The group received lesser sentences after agreeing to co-operate with police.


The lawyer representing al Moussa said that his client was remorseful for his actions describing his involvement in the raid as the biggest mistake of his life. The defendant has since repaid €22,000 since the robbery. The rest of the cash is yet to be recovered.


Attention now turns to 32-year-old, Mohammed Abou-Charka, who played in the EPT Berlin Main Event, allegedly providing information to his associates.
