Tapie group says Lindgren, Ivey, Matusow owe Full Tilt money

Behn Dayanim, a lawyer representing Group Bernard Tapie, has claimed that several poker pros owing Full Tilt Poker money could stand in the way of a potential deal regarding the Tapie group buying Full Tilt Poker.

According to a statement released to PokerStrategy.com, players such as Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Erik Lindgren, Mike Matusow and Barry Greenstein collectively owe Full Tilt Poker between $10 million and $20 million.

“If the money doesn’t come in, it creates a serious obstacle to completion of the deal,” Dayanim explains.  ”This isn’t the only issue with the takeover, and the deal won’t end on any one issue – but this is a substantial item.”

Barry Greenstein has issued a couple of statements on 2+2 outlining his position. In them he says that he owes Full Tilt $400,000 but will hold fire on paying it until the US Department of Justice has established a method of paying US players. You can read both statements, complete with plenty off comment from the 2+2 community here.
