The European Poker Tour stop in Deauville, France could become the latest chapter of the centuries long rivalry between the French and British after an Englishman stormed to the chip lead on Day 2. Martins Adeniya, from London, finished the second day of play atop the leaderboard with 512,000.
The closest French player is Ludovic Lacay. He sits fourth with 377,300. Sandwiched between those two are Brahim Oubella (452,000) and Artem Litvinov (397,100). Rounding out the top five is Canada’s Jason Hallee (375,900).
Notables still in the field include Toby Lewis (278,000) James Dempsey (274,600), Luca Pagano (172,400) and Shannon Shorr (103,000). With 178 players remaining the average chip stack is just shy of 150,000.
A total of 368 players hit the rail on Day 2 including Scotty Nguyen, Liv Boeree, Jake Cody, Vanessa Rousso, Kara Scott, Antoine Saout and Kevin MacPhee.
