Alexander Jung Wins PartyPoker Millions VI

Live Event on Cruise Ship Attracts 171

Alexander Jung won the biggest event of his career recently when he took down the PartyPoker.com Million VI top prize of $358,280. The German won the $8,200 tournament, which was held on a luxury cruise liner that travelled the Mediterranean last week as the 171 entrants in the tournament tried to survive

Most players qualified through PartyPoker, which is not open to American players, but that didn’t stop several Americans from buying directly into the tourney, which was organized with the help of Linda Johnson and Card Player Cruises.

This is Jung’s second big score and largest cash. The 25-year-old won a $1,500 no-limit event at the 2007 L.A. Poker Classic, good for $204,035, and also finished sixth in the $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. event at last year’s World Series of Poker.

Jung was one of the many German’s who qualified through PartyPoker. According to PartyPoker, Germans made up 20 percent of the field.

Jung joins previous winners Kathy Liebert, Howard Lederer, Erick Lindgren, Michael Gracz, and Mike Schneider. The event was directed by Matt Savage and Dave Lamb. Mike Sexton was the host and MC, and the Card Player Cruise team of Linda Johnson, Mark Tenner, Jan Fisher, and Rita Axel was on board making sure everything ran smoothly.
